Differences between center caps 4B0601170A and 8T0601170A for Audi alloy rims

Since 2007, Audi has been producing the two-door A5 coupe. A new line of aluminum wheels with center caps appears 8T0601170A. The center caps received a new number, but the appearance and diameter remained similar to 4B0601170A.

Let's look at the appearance of the caps:

On the left are the original Audi caps 4B0601170A, on the right 8T0601170A.

Although the design is the same, it is clear that the shape of the antennae is different.

There are protrusions on the outer side of the antennae. And the fasteners themselves are thicker than type 4B0. Since this is a small difference, you can install type 8T0 on a wheel of type 4B0. But the opposite will not work. The cap of type 4B0 easily enters the disk of type 8T0 and does not sit tightly in it. You can lose it while driving.
